BACKING PLATES AND BONDING
Our selection of Copper and Stainless Steel, circular and rectangular
replacement backing plates is one of the largest in the industry. Backing plates are
available to fit almost every model of OEM sputtering system manufactured.
Reverse Engineering/Duplication
MAT-VAC has the capability to reverse engineer/duplicate your existing or worn out backing plate(s)
and also to repair your defective part(s). Simply send us your worn out backing plate(s) and a
written purchase order, with the dollar amount to be determined (TBD). We will examine it at no
charge or obligation. Upon completion of our inspection (typically one week or less), a firm price
quote will be sent to you. Do not send any items which are currently patent protected or proprietary drawing(s) and/or any other intellectual property belonging to any other company.
Then it's up to you to decide whether you wish for MAT-VAC to proceed. Our goal is to provide you
with a high quality MAT-VAC backing plate(s) and in the process save your company money.

Custom backing plates are also available. Please
contact us with your specification. TARGET BONDING Thin film based
metallic bonding of MAT-VAC™ supplied sputtering targets to customer supplied or new
backing plates is available. When a backing plate is to be supplied by you, the backing
plate is rigorously inspected to to insure its serviceability. We will inform you, upon
receipt of your backing plate if repair or replacement is required. When inquiring, please
let us know if a bond will be required for your target and the type of backing plate you
will be utilizing. Please also notify us if a spent target will be sent attached to the
backing plate. Spent targets are not returned unless requested in advance with the order.
All bonds are guaranteed 100%. Extensive measures are taken to insure all bonds will withstand
the rigors of the sputtering process. We incorporate vacuum bonding technology, coupled with
X-Ray and ultrasonic testing techniques for complete quality assurance. Silver Epoxy target
bonding is also available for certain types of targets. Please contact us
